Magyaregregy is situated in a valley in the beautifull
green Mecsek mountains. By foreigners hardly discovered. Magyaregregy is a
charming village with about 1000 residents. From Magyaregregy, Pécs, the
Orfü lakes and the health resorts of Gunaras and Komló-Sikonda, are
perfectly attainable. There are two swimming pools very close. One just
across the road and another one in Szaszvar (6 km).
Pécs, a historical studentcity lies at a distance of
about 30 km. This is a very charming city with a lot of places of interest
that descend from the roman empire. Off course shopping, musea, art
galleries and a night out is absolutely worth doing!
The old innercity of Pécs has got a mediterrian
atmosphere, with it's numerous outdoor café's and boutique's. Also a visit
of the big modern shopping mall is absolutely recommended. Every
sundaymorning there is a flea market.
From Magyaregregy a lot of trips can be made like going to Abaliget with it's stalactite and stalagmite caves and bat museum, the famous wine fields Siklós, Szekszárd and Villány. The castles of Pécsvarad, Siklós and Szigetvár, the old moques in Palkonya, Szitgetvár and Siklos, and the place of pilgrimage Mária-Kút are also really worth visiting.
Duna-dráve national park can be visited
with a small tourist train
